A reliable family-owned cleaning company

IsoJoo – a responsible Finnish family business

IsoJoo Oy is a family business originally founded in 2001, and today only operates in versatile cleaning and property management. We provide good-natured home and business cleaning, as well as yard and gardening work and special cleaning in the Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi and Sipoo areas – and sometimes much further afield.

There are all kinds of pretentious declarations and unnecessary hype in the world (and far too few actions), so our actions are genuinely based on the following things that are really important to us, and that also mean a lot to our familiar customers.

Responsible and caring

We take good care of our employees. All our professionals are originally from the Philippines and have been living permanently in Finland for a long time. Everyone has liked the country because Finland is a good and safe country to live in.

They often have extensive work experience in places like Norway, Denmark and Dubai. However, Finland has offered them a better future than before. Thank you Finland for that. Finland needs good and hardworking people.

Fair working conditions

We provide our employees with a regular and secure income and the conditions for a good life on exactly the same terms, or often better, than native Finns would require.

Cleaning is a demanding job, and it must be compensated sufficiently to build your own life. For example, we pay significantly more than the TES salary, offer good additional benefits, breaks, recreation, and high-quality equipment to do the job.

Although people coming here from far away usually don't know it in advance, they are entitled to good occupational health care, sick days, parental leave, paid summer vacation, overtime compensation, breaks and other benefits, just like all native Finns. It costs a lot for the company, but in the country you do things the way the country does.

We encourage employees to join the Finnish Service Industry Union, as this is also a good way to learn about the rules of Finnish working life. We do not want anyone to ever take advantage of the goodwill of the Filipinos.

The security of working conditions and terms of employment is perhaps the most important thing, along with good housing, when settling in a new country, because at the same time, there are many other natural uncertainties and new learning for many years. The support of the employer and the community is then valuable. When there is a strong will to succeed, everything else in life is built smoothly and securely.

Good working conditions and reciprocity

Because we don't want our employees to freeze at bus stops or arrive late, wet and tired at work, they have access to comfortable cars with automatic transmissions. We provide significant assistance with attending driving school.

A driver's license also allows for a certain amount of personal freedom and increases the sense of belonging, which is an excellent thing. Thanks to cars, we avoid the cumbersome task of lugging heavy cleaning equipment on public transport – and the work can be done according to the schedule agreed with the clients, despite the heat, pouring rain, heavy traffic and delays on public transport.

We also help with everything else, including adapting to and succeeding in Finnish society, and we enable people to work in a humane manner, without too much stress, which is in the interest of both the well-being of our personnel and our customers.

We want good people to have a genuinely good job and safe working conditions in every way. Just as we would wish for ourselves.

Happy and hardworking, familiar professionals

Our artists are known as exceptionally hardworking and cheerful, honest workers with a smile on their faces. They have received a lot of praise from our customers and have become very familiar to them.

You can always communicate with our employees in English, the official language of the Philippines. They speak English very well, and are also constantly studying Finnish. Some already speak good Finnish, while others are still working on grammar and vocabulary. Language skills improve rapidly, as it is also a prerequisite for obtaining citizenship.

There is no need to worry about language, because our employees know what to do without any advice. It has been a special surprise that several of our almost centenarian customers have become wonderful friends with familiar cleaners, even though they don't have much in common. Communication is much more than just the right words and grammar.

No roulette

We train our staff thoroughly, and we always strive to have the same people working at each location. We do not practice cleaning roulette, meaning we do not rotate our workers, so for example, you will get a familiar regular cleaner or a work partner for regular cleaning of your home, who you also know by name.

We have tried temporary labor sometimes, but it doesn't really work. High-quality cleaning is a demanding profession, not just vacuuming the middle floor, and requires a long orientation and detailed knowledge of the customer's and the company's habits, methods, and tools to maintain perfect quality.

High quality of work and service

Cleaning is a skill where the difference between a professional and an amateur is noticeable. Our cleaners are trained professionals who use safe, ecological and fragrance-free detergents and high-quality equipment.

The demands on our employees' skills are high – and so are other aspects of our company. Without it, we wouldn't be able to do our work at the level we want to do it.

100 % tyytyväisyystakuu

We promise high quality with every visit. If there are any shortcomings in the cleaning or other work ordered from us, we will fix it for the same price or compensate for it. No small print, no “ask about the industry terms” gimmick.

Staying on schedule

Punctuality is important. We arrive at the agreed time. Our employees travel by car, and their working days are planned sensibly – there is no need to rush cleaning sites, compromising on schedules or the quality of work.

Let's build a good Finnish society together

When you use our services, you are also helping good people build a good Finnish society. That is a really great thing – and although it sounds like a big statement, it is absolutely true. Together we succeed.

What the heck is “BigJoo”?

The name of the company was invented by our Filipino employee. Finns, without realizing it, always say “yeah, yeah”, which sounds pretty funny to a foreigner. In Matinkylä, Espoo, there is a shopping center called Iso Omena.

Our employee combined the words Iso and Joo, which is how this IsoJoo came about. When we added a thumbs-up picture to that, we had a unique name and logo. In English, BigYes. Sometimes a different name stands out to your advantage.

Of course, we appreciate clear and descriptive names, such as Pakilan Putki, Käpylän Lukko or Hakaniemen Metalli, and there should be many more of them, but in the cleaning industry, there was no similar distinctive, short and descriptive free name, so we had to come up with something else. Here we go. Together we will succeed – even if the name is strange.
